ALL LEVELS – WEST COAST - ÅRDAL - FJORD and MOUNTAINS

WHERE IS NEW 2 NORWAY®’S ACTIVE LANGUAGE PACKAGE HELD?
Farthest inside the 20-mile-long Sognefjorden, where Utladalen carries the fjord deeper into the Jotunheimen National Park region, lies idyllic Årdal, a village rich in small-industry traditions. The geographical location makes Årdal a natural starting point for activities in Utladalen - the deepest valley in Norway, fjord activities, or visits to other attractions in the region. We climb 380 meters to settled down in Avdalen Farm for five days.
Participants stay at Avdalen Farm, an abandoned, but recently renovated mountain farm. Avdalen Farm is located in Jotunheimen National Park and is a part of Utladalen. The steep, but scenic path where you climb up the hill with the waterfall, Avdalsfossen, on your left hand and rocks on your right; a breathtaking walk leads  to your destination. 1 hour is required for this walk.

WHAT KINDS OF ACTIVITIES ARE OFFERED?
Depending on the interests of participants, many activities can be arranged. Most activities offered in this Active Language Package are connected to hiking.

WHAT ABOUT THE LANGUAGE CLASSES?
You can choose from THREE Levels - A1 to C1 - Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR):

CEFR - Level 1 - A1 and A2 - Beginner
At the Beginner level, users knowledge of language is sufficient to communicate in a very limited way, with the simplest oral and listening tasks and situations. The users have a basic command of the language needed in a limited range of simple, routine, and familiar tasks and situations.

Classes meet at least two/ three times a day. There are also discussions on cultural and social issues. Attendance at all sessions and excursions is compulsory. Evaluation is based on written/ oral tasks. Participants spend approximately 10/ 12 hours each day in class or scheduled activities.

CEFR - Level 2 - B1 - Intermediate
At the Intermediate level, users are able to refashion and combine learned material to meet their immediate communication and learning needs. They are able to comprehend information on familiar topics in contextualized settings and produce sustained conversation with others on an expanding variety of general topics. They have the knowledge of module 1 & 2 (Teaching Package: På vei, Ny i Norge, Klar for Norge 1 & 2)

Classes meet at least two/ three times a day. There are also discussions on cultural and social issues. Attendance at all sessions and excursions is compulsory. Evaluation is based on written/ oral tasks. Participants spend approximately 10/ 12 hours each day in class or scheduled activities.

CEFR - Level 3 - B2/C1 - Advanced
At the Advanced level users communicate effectively and appropriately even in demanding oral tasks and situations. They can participate easily in social and professional conversations, and can deal comfortably with most subjects over the telephone. They have the knowledge of module 3 & 4 (Teaching Package: Stein på stein, Bo i Norge, Her på berget, Klar for Norge 3 & 4)

Classes meet at least two/ three times a day. There are also discussions on cultural and social issues. Attendance at all sessions and excursions is compulsory. Evaluation is based on written/ oral tasks. Participants spend approximately 10/ 12 hours each day in class or scheduled activities.

WHAT ARE THE COST?
The cost of New 2 Norway®’s Active Language Package is:
NOK 12.500 per person
NOK 24.000 per couple

THE PRICE INCLUDES:

• Coach journey towards Årdal, Return via Flåm and cruise on Nærøyfjorden before train journey, Flåmsbana, towards Oslo,
• Four overnight stay in a recently renovated historic mountain farm, Avdalen gard,
• Full board (3 meals a day),
• Language Training (minimum 40 hours),
• Customized Language Training Manual,
• Unique exposure to Norwegian Culture by meeting the locals,
• all Field Trips,
• Outdoor Activities (minimum 20 hours).

Prices do not include:
Meals which are not described in the package.
Personal expenses such as telephone, additional food and drinks/ alcohol.
