NEW 2 NORWAY´S FOUNDER and ENTREPRENEUR
I love what I do
I love what I do for a living and it shows. With more than 30 years of experience in education, cultural integration, and global travel, I bring a unique perspective to the field of Norwegian language and cultural education services. My motivation to start New 2 Norway grew out of my own experience as an «expat» in the UK and my global travels where I love to immerse myself in the local culture. These experiences gave me an understanding of cultural differences and a deep appreciation for what humans go through when they arrive in their new country.
I grew up in Årdal, which lies at the end of Sognefjorden, our longest fjord, and near the Jotunheimen National Park region on the western side of Norway. Growing up in Årdal instilled a deep love and appreciation for nature and community. At New 2 Norway, I combine my love for nature, collaboration, and language and share that with those who are interested in deepening their connection to Norwegian language and culture during their stay here. We have developed immersive packages — Learn, Live, or Explore — which could include nature excursions where we practice Norwegian at your level. The central ethos of our packages is Unity in Diversity, where we develop learning experiences that speak to our participants diverse backgrounds and stories. There is no challenge too big or too small, and together our team dedicates our utmost energy to every package we create and customize. While we are guides and preservers of Norwegian language, culture, and traditions, you also bring so much to the table. Our goal is to create an environment through mutual respect and care where we can serve as role models to each other. We are so appreciative of what you contribute to Norwegian society and we hope to support you in feeling a deeper sense of belonging.
As a friend pointed out to me, when you have fun and follow your heart, time flies, and it has! In 2022 we celebrated 20 years in business and I am so proud and honored! Without your collaboration, one of our core values, we would not have achieved this, so thank you all for making it happen!
When I am not busy teaching and running New 2 Norway, I am singing in a choir, dancing, doing yoga and meditation, gardening, and traveling.

Social Responsibilities
We started our commitment to community service on October, 24th 2022 (United Nations Day).
Since then, we have had the pleasure of supporting young adults' integration into the Norwegian community through volunteer work opportunties. Whether they wanted to pursue fulltime jobs or return to school, we were there to support them on their journey. We are ever so grateful for this mentoring experience, which we are committed to continuing.
Packages and Approach
Learn Packages
There is a wide range of reasons why professionals and companies need to improve or learn Norwegian. If you are a foreigner living and working in Norway, you will soon realise that it is vital to learn or improve the language when you are trying to move ahead in your career.
These are some of the goals our past students have achieved:
- Understand and become part of our culture in a business (both international or national)
- Pass job interviews (of course in Norwegian)
- Communicate in Norwegian with work colleagues and business partners
- Write better texts at work e.g. emails, proposals, reports, etc.
- Give business presentations
- Feel more confident while speaking
Live Packages
Our Live Packages take place in Oslo where you dive into Norwegian Culture and Traditions in depth of e.g. Oslo history, hidden gems in the city, learning more about the buildings you pass on your way, or our culinary Norwegian kitchen and recipes.
Together with max 5 others you get to learn new things to demonstrate, and improve your skill and talent in the Norwegian Language in only a few hours.
Explore Packages
One of the best ways to learn, is through experience and real-life situations. That's exactly what our Explore Language Package offers!
Our Explore Package is an intensive training program through which you’ll learn Norwegian by doing, by talking to people, by interacting in real life scenarios, by living the Norwegian culture.
The program lasts for a week (5 non-consecutive days) and is divided into 20 lessons (45 min. each). During the program you will get to know other students, locals, places and gain a deeper understanding of Norwegian way of life.
Customized package
Many of our students come to us looking to pass that important exam, to get the norwegian certificate needed to enrol in a Norwegian University or simply to improve their language skills to communicate better with their friends.
We know you have your very specific goals, and you can be sure that our customized language package will get you there and it will be easier than you think.

The Team

We focus primarily on Norwegian Language, Culture and Traditions where our team is trained both internationally and locally in teaching Norwegian as a Foreign Language, so they understand your needs and the environment in which you do business while living and working in Norway.
We match you, as a student, with a teacher based on age, 2nd Language (of the teacher) and experience/ interests (hobbies, work e.g. yoga, marketing), so you both have a common ground to work from.

Since July 2009 this has been our location in central downtown, close to Ring 2 and Alexander Kiellands plass.
We started in 2002 in Nydalen (Ring 3).
