A natural thrill Årdal (Sogn)
Farthest inside the 20-mile-long Sognefjorden, where Utladalen, Norway´s Grand Canyon, carries the fjord deeper into the Jotunheimen National Park region, lies idyllic, but industrial Årdal, a village rich in industry-traditions. The geographical location makes Årdal a natural starting point for activities in Utladalen - the deepest valley in Norway, fjord activities, or visits to other attractions in the region.
New 2 Norway's language training takes place at Svalheim Farm, which is located by the Utla river, the entrance to Jotunheimen National Park, and surrounded by breathtaking mountains.
Details of your course
New 2 Norway's Explore Language Package (ELP) in Sognefjorden is an intensive language course where you dive into Norwegian Language and Culture.
You will have 20 (30) lessons over 5 days, or if you are from Germany, also as Bildungsurlaub. The lessons last 45 minutes, but this does not mean you will be in front of the whiteboard memorizing words all day long. Not at all!
Depending on the interests of participants (max 6), many activities can be arranged.
Most activities offered in this Explore Language Package are connected to hiking and outdoor activities. There are many activities to choose from, please take a look at www.visitardal.com to get some ideas.
What you can expect is not a traditional class but a truly immersive experience.
Schedule for this week might look like this:
- Day 1; Introduction, get to know Årdal and our neighbourhood,
- Day 2; Valuebased lessons and Practical usage of Norwegian,
- Day 3; Outdoor Activity and Practical usage of Norwegian,
- Day 4; Valuebased lessons and Practical usage of Norwegian,
- Day 5; Valuebased lessons and Summing up
When can you start?
Our courses in Sognefjorden start on Wednesdays and run for 5 days until Tuesday, giving you a break of 2 days in between (Saturday & Sunday) to review and rehearse, or you might choose to go from Monday to Friday, it is always an option.

Pricing
- 5 days = 20 lessons* = 755 € per person,
- 5 days = 30 lessons* = 1,055 € per person, or
- Bildungsurlaub = 30 lessons* = 1,055 € per person (for Germans)
* one lesson = 45 minutes

To keep in Mind
We are accredited and approved by HK-Dir (an executive agency for the Ministry of Education and Research) as provider of Norwegian language studies where our guidelines follow Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
First to sign up decide the level. Minimum 3 and max 6 persons per group/ level.
If only 2 participants have signed up one month before start, then the price is as for couples or we reduce the numbers of lessons.
